About Us
The name BHIMAS originates from the legendary Bhima of the Indian epic Mahabharata, who was known not only for his role as a warrior but also for his remarkable culinary skills. During the Pandavas’ exile, Bhima assumed the identity of Vallabha and served as a cook in King Virata’s court, where he impressed many with his ability to create rich, flavorful dishes. His unexpected role in the kitchen reflected versatility, dedication, and a deep appreciation for food. Over time, the name BHIMAS came to represent a commitment to quality cuisine, delectable flavors, and authentic tradition.
Bhimas Group traces its roots back to the early days of 1952, when the visionary Late Mr. K. R. Venkatachalam Iyer, the esteemed founder of Bhimas Group, embarked on a remarkable journey in Thirupathi. Hailing from Palakkad, Kerala, Mr. Venkatachalam Iyer had already garnered a wealth of experience, having worked in various capacities within the hospitality industry before settling in Thirupathi. Fuelled by his unwavering dedication and tireless efforts, Mr. Venkatachalam Iyer achieved a significant milestone in 1952 when he established his own vegetarian mess in Chandragiri, the Taluk Headquarters of Thirupathi. This groundbreaking venture quickly gained recognition for its unparalleled quality and delectable flavors.
Building upon the same legacy, Thirupathi Bhimas Fine Dine Restaurants emerged as a testament to the founder’s enduring vision of offering high-quality, authentic South Indian vegetarian cuisine. With a steadfast commitment to tradition, excellence, and customer satisfaction, the restaurant quickly became a household name, known for its warm hospitality and flavorful dishes. Today, Thirupathi Bhimas continues to uphold the values instilled by Mr. Venkatachalam Iyer, expanding its presence while staying true to its roots in purity, taste, and tradition.
