Sankata Hara Ganesha At the Kanipakam Temple, which is devoted to Ganesha, a particular rite known as Vratham is carried out. When used together, “Sankata Hara” means “one who removes obstacles,” while “Vratham” is a religious observance or vow. Believers in Lord Ganesha do this Vratham to gain his favour and the ability to overcome adversity. Offerings of flowers, fruits, and sweets are made to Lord Ganesha as part of the ritual, along with recitations of prayers and mantras.
